The Hill Community Spirit Day September 12th 2010 |
:: |
Once again this year we had a lovely sun-shining day of fun and activity at our annual Celebration of Community Spirit Day. Nursery Manager Sandra and her team face-painted without a breather all day, TOPIC volunteers did a brisk trade in cakes and bric-a-brac, the bouncy castles were a great hit as was the bucking bronco, Circus Eruption taught adults and children alike juggling, uni-cycling and other death-defying tricks, PCSOs Rob and Dave's golf challenge saw a number of youngsters expertly chipping into their umbrella, colleagues were on hand to provide advice and guidance on job searching with the Council's Employment Training Unit, Want2Work and Work Ways, library services, benefit uptake campaign, community centres, children's services with Mayhill Family Centre, volunteering through Swansea Council for Voluntary Service, health awareness, university courses, refuse collection and recycling, friends and family of prisoners and the Townhill Baptists were spreading their message of togetherness and community spirit. All in all it was quite a day. Thank goodness Kate booked the weather in time!
