Communities First staff and volunteers have been very busy concentrating on proposed changes to the programme for next year and Townhill is no different. Last week there was a landmark first meeting of the Chairs and Co-ordinators for all of Swansea's CF areas and this was a most positive forum to share concerns, rasie questions, find solutions and allay fears. We are awaiting guidance from the Welsh Government following this year's major consultation and evaluation.

Locally we welcome the thrust of these changes: it will be better to have clusters of CF areas covering populations of 10-15,000, we hope there will be a key role for important community hubs like community development trusts and flagship facilities like the Phoenix Centre, and it is about time that a robust performance management system was introduced to demonstrate the success or otherwise of CF work at a grassroots level.
